Hola! This is the last blog post ever. This class was truly a fun experience and will help me out later when I'll take some pictures for anything when I'm older. I also learned a lot of tools which might help me out later and learning some basic tools of Lightroom, which is awesome and some of Photoshop as well, which is helpful if I ever want to make my pictures look better.
I'm gonna start reflecting by talking about the very first time I ever walked into class. I saw loads of computers, pictures and people. Like most first days, it's overwhelming but I was excited to learn about another type of art and it was also my last first day of school. I truly have never been good at photography, but I told myself I was going to try really hard this year and make sure my pictures looked good. I really wanted to make sure my teacher liked the work I turned in. Soon after that we began our first assignment with the camera, it was an assignment called "25 Photo Challenge." You guys didn't see any of those besides the picture I have on my Weebly page is from that. The idea of that assignment was to take twenty-five different pictures of ONE thing. I chose the pond that was right outside of our school. I remember it being freezing outside but I was determined to get some really good pictures. I came back in and was super proud of the results and maybe played around with the vibrancy a little bit too much. Throughout the whole entire year a goal of mine and my teachers was to have something on focus, use nice depth of field and really any other types of compositional elements. Clearly, I am not the best photographer or the best at using Photoshop, it for sure had it's rough patches to it but I΅m happier than it became at least a little easier than it did before, As you scroll down you'll see my worst picture to my best picture. The reason why the first picture was the worst was because it was blurry and it has a nice rule of thirds though! The last one was the best because it had a good range of depth of field and I really liked how it was from the person whole shook the roll of dice and placed it on the table. After learning about ways to make a photo great, I think I´ll be a better photographer than I was before because of this class.

This was another Photoshop assignment we did. We took two pictures, one with a studio background and the other was a white background using a reflector to reflect light. We then took it into Photoshop and made them into a white boarded image. We learned some new tools in Photoshop. Also, including tips for creating portraits in general. Today, we learned how to do "panning" which is a technique used when you're trying to get a car in a picture while it's moving. My teacher taught us to focus on the ground below then move up to the subject. When the subject is moving, you follow it with your camera then you take a picture where you determine the center is. It was hard to understand directions at first, it sounded easy but when I ended up doing it, it just wasn't connecting. My teacher realized we were struggling and helped us out.
Hi, This is sadly the last photo assignment. I wanted to make sure I used some composition techniques in this picture. The main subject of this picture is the blue dice container which is in focus, while the rest of the game isn't. I really like how it's more like how the person who's playing the game is seeing things. The blue dice container is more to the side, which is more interesting and I like how the dice are spread out around with different numbers. The black background makes the blue and white pop out. I like the shadow the container makes on the table. I also like the way the light reflects on the table. Exposure Triangle: Iso: 800 Aperture: 3.5 Shutter Speed: 1/15 I slightly moved the exposure down, moved the highlights, shadows and blacks all the way down, white was nearly all the way down and use photoshop to make the rest of the background black.
This was an assignment where we took multiple pictures and we composited them together to create one final image. We used a tripod to make sure we stabilized the camera and that nothing would change throughout the whole entire image. We had to put them into layers and bring all of the pictures together.
Hi. Photo assignment six was a fun one!!! Light painting. It didn't go as smooth as I thought it was going to. My basement is a super dark room, don't get me wrong, it's not creepy at all. It's super roomy and enjoyable. There are barely any windows in there, which is why it was easy to have it be dark. Sadly, the glow sticks i bought didn't turn out very well. The LED light stick I bought did though. It was very fun to try and something I want to try again. Exposure Triangle: ISO: 100 Aperture: 5.0 Shutter Speed: 1.3 For editing I pumped up the exposure a little, took the blacks all the way down, brought the contrast, temp up and saturation down.
IThis was a photoshop assignment where we were "compositing" images together. It was super frustrating to figure out how to do and I messed up one too many times. It was super cool to learn though. Plus, I really like the stars in the picture. We all figured out my over for cats by now.. obviously I had to add a creepy picture of one!
This week I was gonna shoot macro but went for black and white instead. The lighting in the room was awful which made my pictures grainy. I was super disappointed with the end results, hopefully, next week I'll have a better shoot. I think candles and lights look really cool in a black background and white highlights to it. I also, have some of my cats since I've been dying for another cat shoot!! Iso: 200 Aperture: 4.0 Shutter speed: /160 For editing I first made it black and white, then I bumped up the contrast on the image. I lowered the exposure, lowered the shadows and, pumped up the highlights.
This week we did a pano assignment in photoshop. It was super cool to see the different types of way that photoshop stitches it up. I learned that taking more pictures is better and makes the pano better.
Hello! I decided to shoot food for this week's assignment. I shot chocolate covered strawberries and ice cream. The ice cream pictures turned out significantly better. I waited for the ice cream to melt a bit and drizzled caramel on the ice cream spoon and plate. I added the strawberries on some and took them away as well. A super awesome sub that we had today--Mrs. Spencer--helped me rate pictures and decide which one is the best. She pointed out how cool the swirls looked on that spoon. Exposure Triangle: Iso: 420 Aperture: 3.5 Shutter Speed: 1/30 Editing: I made it black and white. It looked better with the black and white contrast. I played with the exposure--dimming it and pumping the shadows up. (I made them brighter.)
